Join us in the Hotel Giles Courtyard for a concert of Spanish folk tunes, French & American jazz standards, and beautiful classical songs by Sarah Davis and Anthony Garcia from 7-10pm 8 November 2025. Hailed by the New York Times as "a voice with considerable warmth," lyric-soprano Sarah Davis has been recognized as a gifted performer both on the recital and operatic stage. She has premiered works by American composers: John Harbison, Barbara White, Eliza Brown, Eric Nathan, and Elliott Carter at Tanglewood Music Center, SongFest, Radio France, and Network for New Music. In the month prior to the pandemic taking hold, Ms. Davis performed a glorious Liederabend at Schwartzsche Villa in Berlin, Germany, singing Canteloube, Rachmaninov, Sibelius and Berg's Sieben Fr he Lieder with pianist Chris Cartner. Earlier this year Ms. Davis joined the San Antonio Camerata, performing Faure's La Bonne Chanson and at SongFest in Los Angeles, performed John Harbison's Crossroads for Chamber Ensemble to celebrate the composer's 85th birthday. Anthony Garcia is a songwriter, guitarist, and classically trained pianist based in Austin, Texas. His musical style has most accurately been described as "cinematic Americana," a genre that interweaves songwriting with expanding, quasi-orchestral sections. Versatile is the best word to describe his live performance. He regularly performs at Hotel Giles, in Comfort, and surrounding areas.
