Opening Reception: Michael Snodgrass @ MixHaus Gallery
716 High Street Comfort TX 78013
Join us at MixHaus Gallery in downtown Comfort for the opening reception of new work by Santa Fe based artist Michael Snodgrass. Known for his bold, layered paintings described as "Abstract Primitive," Snodgrass draws inspiration from the Neo-Expressionists of 1980s New York, as well as tribal and Mexican folk art influences developed during his years in Santa Fe. His work features strong color, thickly applied paint and wax, and carved, expressive figures that often carry a dose of humor and subtle social commentary. With a career that began in San Francisco as a teenage painter and evolved through sculpture and design, Snodgrass has built a dedicated collector following across the United States and internationally. This opening reception is free and open to the public. Guests will have the opportunity to meet the artist, learn more about his art practice, and be among the first to view and collect works from his latest exhibition.
